Window Cleaning

An often forgotten part of residential house cleaning or apartment cleaning is window cleaning. People spend thousands of dollars on the windows when a house is built. Windows provide provide both a feature and a benefit. The feature is the look of the windows and the benefit is that you can see through them. When we clean our car, the car windows are given as much attention as the rest of the body, why is it we don’t pay as much attention to windows? When you next have a Standard Clean or Deep Clean/Spring Clean, consider having the windows cleaned to provide that final touch.

Three Benefits of window cleaning
  1. Increased value and curb side appeal – Having clean windows on a property increases the visual appearance of the property. If you are selling or looking to rent a property, how it is presented can be vital. The appearance of a house can be the difference between good tenants or how much someone is prepared to pay for a property.
  2. Degradation – If windows are not cleaned regularly there is a risk of etching. Etching and scratching can weaken glass. What causes etching? It depends where you live. If you live near the ocean, salt and sand can collect on the window. these embed themselves into your porous glass causing permanent stains and cracks. If you have significant vegetation around your house, your windows become collection points. The window ledges can bring hazardous material such as sap, bark and leaves that collect there. they are also areas where pests find refuge to build nests.
  3. Aesthetics – As noted earlier, windows provide a benefit. The benefit is the light that they allow in so you can appreciate the surrounds. Have you ever seen someone wearing dirty glasses? They then clean the glasses and say how much better they can see. The same goes for a house. If your property has windows that are a feature (the look), and they provide a benefit (allowing sunlight in and a beautiful view), then don’t forget to clean them, you and all who come will notice the difference.
